How local progress, backups and player-shared links work.
Local game records
This release does not require an account and does not provide cloud saves. Game progress and settings are stored locally in the browser. Files are imported only after you select them.
The hosting service receives ordinary network requests and may process technical request information. This is distinct from uploading your game save. Google Analytics 4 is configured only for the official https://1in8bplay.com domain; local and preview domains do not load it.
Your sharing choice
A challenge link can contain a seed, version identifiers and a game action record. Anyone with the link can read it. It is not an encrypted private message and previously shared copies cannot be recalled.
Private notes and custom display names are excluded from the challenge payload. Save files may contain more information than share links; review files before sending them to others.
Delete or move your data
Use Settings to export a backup or delete local records. Browser data removal and private browsing can affect persistence. A different domain or browser does not automatically have access to the same saves.
Website analytics
On the official domain, Google Analytics 4 measures page views and a limited set of game interaction events. It may use cookies and process device, browser and network information. We disable advertising personalization and Google signals. Browser settings can prevent collection.
GA4 event fields exclude custom names, private notes, seeds, local run identifiers and save records. GA4 page locations omit query strings and URL fragments. Automatic form, outbound-link and other enhanced-measurement events are disabled.
On the exact official HTTPS domain, Microsoft Clarity helps us understand public-page navigation through heatmaps and limited session recordings. It sends interaction, browser and device information to Microsoft. Strict text masking is enabled, Clarity cookies are disabled, and advertising and analytics storage consent are set to denied. This limits cross-page session analysis. Clarity is skipped on play, challenge, collection and settings pages, on URLs with query strings or fragments, and on pages displaying masked local records. Local and preview hosts do not load analytics vendors.
